Lakeshore Community Health Care recently received $5,000 from the Making Spirits Bright, Inc. organization. Gerry Plehn, president of the Making Spirits Bright Board of Directors, and Richard Chesebro, president of Sheboygan Rotary Foundation, presented the check to Kristin Blanchard, CEO of Lakeshore Community Health Care. (photo attached) Making Spirits Bright made the grant as part of its funding of non-profit community organizations from donations received during its annual holiday lights show.
Lakeshore Community Health Care Inc provides primary and preventative medical, oral health care and behavioral health services. “This grant money will be used to teach oral hygiene to children in the Sheboygan School Dental program,” said Plehn. “On behalf of the Making Spirits Bright board of directors and the Rotary clubs of Sheboygan County, we are pleased that we can help provide the supplies that students will receive through this program.”
Preparations for this year’s Making Spirits Bright drive-through lights show at Evergreen Park are well underway. The 2015 light show will open on Friday, November 27 and will be open through Dec. 31 (closed Dec. 24). Admission is free, but pantry item donations, collected at the beginning of the route, are requested to help stock the Sheboygan County Food Bank. Cash donations support future growth and maintenance of this event, in addition to being distributed to local organizations through grant requests.
Making Spirits Bright is a service project of the three Rotary clubs of Sheboygan County.
